Congratulations to Christina Hallam, Niklas Schnake and Jon Dryja who received superior ratings for their performances at the State Solo and Ensemble Festival held on May 15th.

Congratulations to the Symphonic Band who received a superior rating, first place and JudgeÕs Choice awards at Music in the Parks on Saturday.  The band received a 98 and a 97.5 as their scores.

From: Carl A. Bly

Adjunct Professor, Shenandoah University

Ret. Fairfax County, VA Band Director

Ret. Georgetown University Orchestra and Band Director

I had the great privilege this past weekend of adjudicating the Mount View Middle School Symphonic Band at the Music In The Parks Festival at Hershey, PA.

It certainly was an honor to hear the quality literature the Mount View Symphonic Band is performing, and the high level of professionalism at which they were played! It was truly an enjoyable experience to listen to the advanced maturity level at which Ms. Williams students perform.  They were extremely well prepared for this event in their detailed work.  The ensemble plays with such mature tone qualities, wonderful balance within the ensemble, and their musical phrasing through dynamics and shaping of musical line is marvelous at their age.

I am sure you, Mount View Middle School, and your community are aware of this wonderful gem you have.  But please do realize just how fortunate everyone is to have a quality music educator like Ms. Williams working with your young adults every day!  This program is truly not the norm, but a wonderful exception to be admired and looked to as an example in music education.

I wish you, Ms. Williams and the Marriottsville Community continued success with this very special program.  I will long remember this day!
