Science MSA rescheduled dates
will be May 10th and 11th. Eighth grade students who have not been administered the test will do
so on Monday and Tuesday, May 10th and 11th. Students will be notified of their
testing time through science classes next week. MVMS students who have already completed the Science MSA
will participate in alternate instructional activities during testing periods.
We apologize for any
confusion. Please talk to your
child and mark your calendars if your child has been scheduled to take the Science
MSA on May 10th and 11th. Any questions may
be directed to Mrs. O'Byrne, assistant principal and school accountability
coordinator.
Congratulations to
Connor Malarkey, Annalise Lower, Justin Jones and Jonathan Dryja. Their
outstanding artwork has been chosen to be on display in several Maryland
buildings during the summer: three
Howard County buildings (Board of Education, The George Howard Building,
Faulkner Ridge Gallery); Maryland State Department of Education in Baltimore;
the Maryland Treasury Building and the State House in Annapolis; and the
Underground Show in Annapolis during the legislative session.
As we begin to plan for our end
of the year activities, it is our desire that all students are able to
participate, regardless of their ability to pay. For this reason, MVMS will be accepting donations for a scholarship
fund. MVMS families or community
members who wish to contribute should send donations into the front office,
attention Karyn Littlejohn.
The Schoolwide Enrichment Fair
will be held May 12th at 7:00 PM in the media center at MVMS. Come
to this showcase event to view displays representing CORE seminars as well as a
variety of class research projects and music performances. The evening will conclude at 8:00 PM
with a MVMS Jazz Band concert in the dining hall.
