> Mark your calendar for March 16th, and 17th . Please do NOT schedule appointments or early dismissals on these days. Also, EVERY student should arrive to school on time. We want our children to have a positive testing experience and that starts with their attendance!! The Reading MSA will be given on March 16th& 17th .
> MSA Madness, Mount View Middle School's First Annual Basketball Tournament will be occurring on March 17th from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. Come see the madness as Mount View's students show off their best to be crowned champions! Tickets can be bought in advance at lunch for$1.00 or at the door. Sales are limited to 350 tickets. Come support Mount View School Spirit! All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross for Haiti Relief. Permission forms are available in the front office and on the MVMS website: www.mountviewmiddleschool.org.
Student Recognition
>MVMS has two state winners in the Reflections contest. Maddie Rodrigue has received an Award of Excellence in the category of Dance and Brynn Morales has received an Award of Merit in the category of Dance. They will be honored at a State ceremony on May 1st. Congratulations to Maddie and Brynn!!

GT News
The nomination period for student participation in GT classes is now through March 19th. If your child has taken the GT test and did not meet the cut-off score in a particular subject, you may nominate him or her to participate in that GT class. Please send a letter to Ms. Stout explaining what class you would like a placement review for and an explanation as to why you feel your child would benefit from a GT placement. Teachers have also been asked to nominate students based on classroom performance. Please contact Ms. Stout at shelley_stout@hcpss.org if you have any questions.

It's still not too late to raise money for Mount View through programs such as eScrip !! One easy way is to register your credit cards through eScrip ( www.eScrip.com ). By registering your credit cards through eScrip , you can earn money for Mount View while dining out. It doesn't matter if it is a business dinner or a date night - every little bit we do can help raise money for Mount View. After dining out and paying with a registered credit card, you may receive an e-mail that will allow you to double your contributions by filling out a simple survey. So, even business dinners and date nights can help raise money for our school. It is as easy as that!!
