Outdoor Education

6th Grade Outdoor Education will be held on May 19th - 21st. The cost is $150 per student. Permission forms will go home with report cards on Wednesday, January 30th and are due Friday, February 22nd.

Boy's Basketball Intramurals

Any boys interested in signing up for basketball intramurals should see Mr. Blum for a permission slip. Permission slip is also available on Mr. Blum's webpage, web.hcpss.org/~cblum. There will be two, five-day sessions. Session one is for sixth grade only. Session two is for seventh and eighth grade only. Session one began Wednesday, January 16th. Session two begins Thursday, January 31st. There is a limit to 32 students for each session. Please make sure you pick your child up promptly at 3:30 PM.

Attention talented writers and artists! Please submit your poetry, short stories, and art work to our online magazine, IMAGINATION. Be sure to include a cover page for each submission. See Mrs. Quinn's website for more information.

If you would like to receive a copy of this year's Memory Book in June, submit an order form with a check made out to MVMS for $20. Orders are due by Thursday, January 31st and should be returned to the GT Room.

Gifted and Talented summer program information for all grade levels in technology, science, language arts, fine arts and mathematics is now available. You can download the brochure at http://www.hcpss.org/summer.

GT Testing for nominated 6th and 7th graders is Wednesday, February 20th in the GT Room, period 1. Parents who nominated their children for testing were sent a confirmation email. If you did not receive an email, contact Mrs. Quinn.

Cosmic Bowling

8th Graders! Come Cosmic Bowling on your day off! Friday, February 8th 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Normandy Lanes Brunswick Bowling (8419 Baltimore National Pike Ellicott City, MD 21043) Cost to Student is $7 - this includes shoes, and all you can bowl (Total cost is $11- PTA is paying $4) Chaperones needed! (No siblings if you chaperone!) You are responsible for your own transportation. Parents: Please pick your child up promptly at 3:00 PM so that the chaperones do not have to wait. Howard County Recreation and Parks Snowboarding and Skiing at Ski Liberty for ages 12 and up on Monday, January 21st and/or Friday, February 8th. Snow Tubing and Pizza Party at Ski Roundtop for ages 11 and up.
