Spiritwear
ATTENTION MOUNT VIEW PARENTS AND INCOMING PARENTS! PTSA is excited to announce that our spirit wear will have a new look this year! We will be offering Under Armour and various other new items. Make sure your kids and you show your Falcon pride by wearing your New Mount View Spiritwear. Look for order forms to come out around Mid-April.

Howard County History Day is Saturday, March 29th at Reservoir High School. Student participants will need to arrive by 8:00 AM for the registration. All students and parents are welcome to attend this event. Judging begins at 9:00 AM, Open House is from 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM, and the closing ceremony is at 3:00 PM.
The GT Orientation Meeting for Incoming 6th Grade Parents is on Thursday, April 17th in the Media Center from 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM. Parents will learn about the GT Content Area classes and enrichment opportunities for all students.
UMBC's Center for Women and Information Technology will be hosting its 6th Annual Computer Mania Day On Saturday, May 3rd. Computer Mania is a half-day of technology-related activities for middle school students, their parents, teachers, and community members. During the afternoon, students will enjoy hands-on, interactive workshops focused on technology and engineering and run by women role models in industry and research. The GT Enrichment Fair is on Thursday, May 8th from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM in the GT Room, Computer Lab, and Media Center. Students who worked on GT enrichment projects will showcase their work and demonstrate programs using technology.
Congratulations to Connor Foley, Clair Fremuth, Brooke Lally, Ryan Mogavero, John Quinn, Ramkesh Renganathan, Brady Richards, and Beth Wehr, who participated in the Howard County Middle School Debate on Thursday, March 13th at Oakland Mills Middle School. They did a fantastic job preparing and presenting the research for this debate.
Winter Bash Update
The Spirit Team's Winter Bash, originally scheduled for Friday February 22nd, has been rescheduled because of the snow day to Friday, March 28th from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM in the Mount View cafeteria. Students who have bought tickets, please hold on to them (keep them in a safe place!) until the dance on March 28th-additional tickets will be sold during lunches on March 26th, 27th and 28th. If you purchased a ticket for the February date and cannot attend the March 28th rescheduled dance, you can turn in your ticket for a refund during the lunch ticket sales. If you were signed up to chaperone, you will be recontacted to assess your availability on the March 28th. Anyone interested in volunteering to chaperone on March 28th can contact Janet Gilbert at janet@janetgilbert.net.

The Music and Arts Center will hold it's 15th Annual Summer Band Camp for grades 4 - 12 on July 7th - 18th from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM for Concert Band and Wind Ensemble; 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM for Jazz Ensemble. The Camp will be held at Marriotts Ridge High School. The cost of the camp is $175 for Band Camp and $145.00 ($100.00 if registered in Band Camp) for Jazz Ensemble.
